This site gives you general information and a method for checking a coach, a course or a mentor before you pay. It is not legal advice, not financial advice, and not advice about your particular situation. We do not know your circumstances, and nothing here is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who does.
We hold the rest of the site to a standard of honesty about its limits, so it would be strange not to be honest about our own. Here they are, plainly.
General information, not advice#
Everything here is written for a general reader, not for you specifically. The checks, the legal points and the recourse steps are a starting point to help you ask better questions and find the right official source, not a ruling on your own case. For a decision that matters, get advice from a solicitor, a qualified adviser, or the relevant regulator or consumer body, who can look at your actual facts.
Laws and figures change#
We trace every legal point, penalty figure and time limit to a primary source and date it, and we correct mistakes in the open on our corrections page. Even so, laws are amended, thresholds move, and enforcement shifts. Before you act on anything time-sensitive, check it against the current primary source we link to. A figure or a deadline here is a pointer to verify, not a guarantee of what applies the day you read it.
Money and investing are out of scope#
We explain consumer protections like card chargebacks, and in the United Kingdom Section 75, as a buyer's safeguard. That is not financial or investment advice. Where a course is really about trading, crypto or investing for returns, that is regulated territory, and we send you to the financial regulator rather than advise you ourselves.
The checks reduce risk, they do not remove it#
The method here helps you tell a stronger seller from a weaker one before your money moves. It cannot guarantee that a seller who passes is honest, or that one who fails is not. A clean public record is not proof, and a missing one is not a verdict. Use the checks to weigh the odds and slow down at the right moment, not as a certificate.
We describe patterns, we name no one#
This site teaches you to recognise tactics. It does not rate, accuse or name individual sellers. Where a regulator or a court has already acted in a case, we point to their published finding and link to it. Nothing here should be read as an allegation against any particular person or business.
