Accessibility

Last updated

CourseKiln aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We treat accessibility as part of the editorial standard, not an afterthought.

What we do

  • Colour contrast meets or exceeds WCAG AA in both default and dark modes.
  • Every interactive element has a visible keyboard focus indicator.
  • Headings follow a single, semantic order: one H1 per page, no skipped levels.
  • Images carry meaningful alt text; decorative images use empty alt.
  • The site is navigable by keyboard alone, including a skip-to-content link.
  • We honour prefers-reduced-motion: animations and transitions are suppressed for readers who request it.
  • The site is light by design, with no trackers, no heavy third-party scripts, and no layout-shifting ads.

Known limitations

Some embedded source links point to third-party sites whose accessibility we cannot control. Where a source is critical to a claim, we summarise it in our own words on the page.

Report a barrier

If something on this site is hard to use with a screen reader, keyboard, or other assistive technology, please tell us. Email hello@kilnguides.co.uk with the page URL and a short description. We aim to acknowledge within five working days and to fix confirmed AA barriers in the next deployment.
